Bob, while I'd like to see our board grow, one advantage of a small board is that we don't have enough people for "clicks" to develop.

Kevin, I understand about the post count. There are people who believe quantity matters more than quality. It's a little different for moderators/board owners, since somebody has to plant seeds or a board can die from no use.

Jem, the moderators on a musical board I go to have a rule that says 'Don't annoy the moderators". Since they decide what annoys them, it can be used as a blanket rule to get rid of anybody they feel like. There was a good idea that we elect moderators, but the board owner said no to that. She's rarely there, so we would prefer she leave it in the hands of people we trust more. The board was out of control before the moderators were appointed, but somewhere there has to be a medium between letting anybody be attacked by people who have no other purpose and making blanket rules to cover anything you don't like that day.
