I expected the Redskins to lose, but I didn't think it would be this bad. The Patriots have almost no weaknesses and they exposed the Redskins weaknesses, taking advantage of our mediocre offensive line and to some extent our injured secondardy.

As talented as the Patriots players are, and they are very talented, this game was won in this lopsided fashion, because of Belicheck, the coach. The Redskins had practiced stopping the long threats of Bradys throw all week and thought the defense matched up well with the receivers. The Patriots thought so too and unexpectedly came out running. Mulroney was the major offensive weapon for them in the first quarter. They caught the Redskins, who expected Brady to come out gunning, off guard. The Redskins were clearly unprepared for them to come out running and that's why Belecheck did it. Washington was in total confusion because the Patriots played a different game then they have this season and the defense for Washington never caught up. Brady threw short passes and the rest was the running game. This is not what the Redskins were expecting and they never adjusted well.

I have two consolation prizes. My other team, the Pittsburgh Steelers looked great from beginning to end, which was good to see. All aspects of their game gelled at once.

The other was that I have a shot at winning the office pool. I have to hope nobody got every game right, because I got every game, except the Buffalo-Jets game right.
