First from my Dad's father's first name and middle from my mother's maiden last name. Ok on the first but no so good on the last. Last names should
remain last names.

I was named after my grandfather. In the Jewish religion you are named after someone who is no longer alive. Often the first letter is used in English, but
the hebrew nameis either exact or as close as possible. You honor the person.

Because my father had an aunt who was an "old maid" of the 1900's, but a really cool one. She was affectionate, mischievous, and her nephews and
nieces lover her to death.
She was the one who played serious when surrounded by adults, but who helped the kids in their adventures and even their mischievous endeavors when no one was looking  .
Dad had the fondest memory of her and my mother thought the name Elena was a very "normal" one, and nice. (At least in my country it is a common name yet not too common and it sounds ok). |

Because there's a St. Kevin.
My middle name is Shawn. I currently work with someone with the same name and spelling, and I believe he's the only other person I ever met with that spelling. For the first 10 years of my life, I went by my middle name. That changed, of course, when a with the same name (don't remember the spelling) moved in the neighbourhood. |

My first name came from Pasty Cline my mothers favorite singer, my middle name Nadine came from my mothers best freind.

Patsie Cline is one of my top C/W singers. I always have said when Patsie Cline died so did C/W music.
PS: You could have been named for Pattie Page and not done bad there either.

BobP, My mother also loved her, but, My dad loved her more. My mother fought for it to be because of Pastie Cline. LOL
