watch than Federer - Borg, Laver, Sampras, Ashe etc. A case could be made for any of them as the greatest, but in the end, Federer really has a consistency
over the years that nobody else managed, from the time he was 19 until now and he doesn't look anywhere close to finished. So, the title may not quite

Finding an individual having the greatest impact is very hard in the NFL as previously said. If pressed hard for a short list I would say the original owners
of the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs who were the chief architechs of the current NFL that was formed by the merger of the old NFL and AFL leagues.
Also I would add Roone Arlidge for starting MNF that become TV legend.

I didn't pick a football player as the best ever either, because football is such a team sport. I'd have to pick position by position rather than one
player. You can't really compare a running back to a defensive lineman or a quarterback to a safety. You can't even really compare a quarterback to a
receiver.

I point out that the 70s Steelers, which (sorry Patriot fans) is the greatest team of all time had an impact player at almost every position.

There are those in sports that have had a very major impact on that sport. The greatest and major impact are not always the same. In terms of impact here is my
list.
Baseball-Ruth no question had the greatest impact and is the greatest player especially with most recent records being aided with drugs.
Golf-Arnold Palmer had the greatest impact to the sport. Without Arnold others following may not have had the impact they have or left.

Hockey-Gretsky is has been titled "The...

Never thought I'd see a golfer better than Jack Nicholas, but Tiger is clearly the best ever and if he does get back on track, we'll be even better.
Some sports clearly do have an all time best. Tiger is one. Federer close to being another:

Baseball - Babe Ruth (still unbelievable stats and consistency) there have been many great players, but nobody ever accomplished or will accomplish all he did

Basketball - Michael Jordan - there were many players I loved such as...

Mickelson, etc, it's a pretty exciting time for players.
